Chickens!

Wow, I have got to stop with these over due updates!
Ok, so, I have chickens! They are Black Japanese Bantam. About 15 of them total, very cute and flighty things, they came with babies!
I drove to Harrisonburg last Friday to pick them up. Lady was about an hour late, I got worried it would be a scam, since I paid half for them via Paypal. Luckily, after I walked back from a near by store, there she was, with my new pets!
They are such little birds, smaller than a Crow, and if you have ever seen one in person, they are big birds. I packed them in my little car and drove through the lovely Blue Ridge Mountains. They slid slowly to the other side of their boxes on ever turn, and then clucked in disapproval. I drove as slow and careful as I could without pissing off the line of people behind me too much.
They have laid 3 eggs total. One I picked up and fridge'd it, since it rolled out of the nest. The other two had been laid in a new nest and are next to each other. Now I wonder if a hen is laying a clutch to sit and hatch this late in summer!
Chillie wants to eat them, Kohaku is still on the fence about them. He likes to sniff and know every animal before e makes a decision, lol. The cats will never know them, they stay indoors. Unless I free range the chickens, that is.
